Global Head of Continuous Improvement Leadership Development


Job description

To bring the understanding, ownership and the day to day living of our Continuous Improvement culture within our Line Management to a much deeper level. We need to educate, develop and coach our critical customer facing and operational management by showing and evangelising the significant impact having a Continuous Improvement mind-set will bring to the success of their role and our business, to make it real!

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Senior role to work closely with the Vice President of Continuous Improvement to develop (senior) lean leadership methods across the globe in a structured, standardised deployment. To support regional Continuous Improvement activities that focus on the delivery of global leadership development targets
  • Closely work with stakeholders in developing, coaching and transitioning operational leadership at all levels towards a solid, integrated and self-supporting lean management infrastructure
  • Develop a roadmap and lead the program to significantly upskill our Site Management and Operational Leadership teams around the world in Continuous Improvement methods and hence take ownership of how to best leverage our people and methods to maximize the benefits for their respective operations
  • Provide Continuous Improvement Leadership and project support globally, managing major multi-region/multi-country deployment of Continuous Improvement methods. The role is split between office and site based and requires a high degree of flexibility in travel, location and adaptability to local conditions
  • Further development of the Continuous Improvement methods and the integration of Continuous Improvement with Operations teams to ensure a holistic approach to Continuous Improvement
  • Manage and develop strategy and projects on-time, to specification and within the approved budget on behalf of both the project sponsors and the regions within Continuous Improvement guidelines

Your skills and experience

  • At least 10 years’ experience in a Senior Operations Leadership role
  • Educated to degree standard or the equivalent experience
  • Contract Logistics Experience or other service sector experience in a B2B customer facing environment
  • At least 5 years experience of working in a Continuous Improvement culture with first hand project involvement
  • Proficient and effective in leading transformations without authority in a matrix structure
  • Experience as a coach, mentor and  leader of non-direct reports as well in other cultures
  • Fluency, written and spoken in English
  • Willingness and ability to travel (avg. 3-4 days per week)
